HEO was founded in 2014, yet we bring over 35 years broad based construction experience in both the residential and commercial markets. We provide construction consulting services to help manage your project from start to finish. Typically, we act as the owner’s direct representative, coordinating your project with qualified engineers, contractors, and tradesmen.

Richard Cunningham - Owner

Richard resides in Virginia and spent formative years in construction working in the Washington DC metro area. His experience is tactile, design and detail oriented.
He has strong feelings for building in an environmentally responsible manner. Early studies and continuing education include solar energy designs with modeling related to the building envelope, ie. solar gain, glazing, thermal mass, insulation and ventilation. All of this energy engineering, developed mainly via DOE & ASES in the 1980’s, has been codified as USGBC-LEED and CA Title 24 building guidelines. Richard has been backstage his entire career in this environmentally charged milieu, working to keep pace with evolving construction engineering. In keeping with developments in the maturing PV solar marketplace, Richard has completed SEI’s advanced training for battery based PV system design and is registered as NABCEP-PVA.  He is accomplished, and brings a world of can do confidence to the PV solar market.
In recent years, as a construction manager, his experience has taken him far afield to California, and overseas in Asia and Africa.
